The intervention site is located on the banks of the Ribeira de Santo Estêvão, a tributary of the Tejo River. This landscape is characterized by sandy and stony soils, resulting from continuous sediment deposits due to the constant changes in the course of the Tejo and its tributaries.
The project foresees the organization of the terrain to accommodate a program primarily associated with polo practice, and secondarily, a set of complementary equestrian activities.
The project aims for a careful layout and architectural definition that creates a recognizable identity for those traversing the landscape, while remaining harmoniously integrated into its cultural and natural context. The general requalification of the terrain includes the installation of a polo arena at one end.
Between the polo field and the building, a wide area currently covered with stone pines will be maintained, potentially serving in the future as a recreational space, outdoor dining area, or a place for rest and social interaction. Beyond this, the view opens to the full extent of the field, reflecting the scale and anatomy of the horses in use.
