From its gentle slopes, exposed to the south and protected from the northern winds by the Serra do Caldeirão, the Lino house was designed to make the best use of the topographical, climatic, and spatial conditions. The decision was made to place the house to the north as much as possible in order to preserve a significant green area within the plot, always prioritizing the outdoor space.
The house is developed along two axes: one from north to south, creating symmetry at the ground floor level, centered around the central points of the house, the kitchen and dining room, and the exit to the private garden and pool; and the other from east to west, with a layout of interconnected spaces, such as, sleeping, eating, and living areas.
The relationship with the exterior varies according to the program: since the northern and eastern face the public road, they will be more enclosed on both floors; the western façade, due to its solar exposure, will only have a single opening on each floor; and the southern façade will bring in more light and open space, as it faces the garden.
