Rooted in the valley overlooking the sea, the Casa Maceira engages with the present while remaining grounded in the principles of traditional Portuguese architecture.

The design centers around a compact, functional core that houses the service areas, such as the bathrooms and stairs, organizing the flow of the space. Surrounding this core are open-plan areas for the living room, kitchen, and bedrooms, fostering a sense of interconnectedness.

The façades and window openings have been simplified, reducing ornamentation and allowing for a cleaner, more contemporary expression of the structure.

The addition of a pergola on the terrace extends the living space outdoors, offering a shaded area that frames the surrounding landscape and enhances the relationship between the built environment and its natural context.
