Les Jumeaux approach aims to qualitatively complete the existing space, both architecturally and landscape, by clearing as much ground as possible allowing the students to benefit from a positive school environment. The goal is to create harmony among the interior, exterior, and transitional spaces.
The parking lot is located underground so it won’t interfere with its sustainable principle of meeting spaces focused on education and nature. This space marks a connection that links the buildings together. This level includes, in each building, a gymnasium, locker rooms, showers, restrooms, galleries for spectators and technical rooms. The gymnasium, with a height of 7.5 meters, will be illuminated by windows along its uppermost parts throughout the building.
Above ground, the buildings will expand radially around a central void. On the ground floor, the two kindergarten classrooms are organized around a garden connecting the two buildings. The upper floors will host the primary classrooms that are designed around a center open for more playful activities and socialization among the students.
